What is the Alternative Enforcement Program (AEP)?
The HPD designates 200 severely distressed multiple dwellings each year in January. The designation criteria include:
- Buildings with a high number of open B and C violations
- The total amount of ERP charges
How are buildings notified?
Owners will be notified end of January via a Class I violation notification. In addition, tenants are also notified via a public posting at the building
What are the correction terms?
Building owners will only have 4 months to correct all of the qualifying conditions. Failure to correct the qualifying conditions may result in emergency repairs, liens, and significant fees.
