SiteCompli and InCheck administrators can mark individual devices as exempt from Category 5 inspections if they know the device isn’t required to perform them.
Exempted Devices will have adjusted language on the Elevator Records page (as shown below), and not appear in the Calendar or trigger alerts for upcoming Cat 5 due dates.
PLEASE NOTE: We automatically mark Escalators, Dumbwaiters, and Cranes as exempt from Cat 5 inspections – these cannot be manually adjusted.
Devices can be exempted by visiting Company Settings > Exempt Cat 5 Devices.
Here’s where you’ll be able to identify specific devices in your account and mark them as exempt.
From this screen, you can:
- View all the devices in your account, or isolate ones that have been manually exempted
- View any devices that are automatically exempt based on the device type
- Edit the status of any device individually by using the Exempted toggles on the right side
- Click Bulk Edit to manage multiple devices at once
- Search for any specific device
Click any toggle for an individual device to adjust the CAT 5 status for that device:
Click Bulk Edit to select and adjust exemption statuses for multiple devices at once. The Bulk Edit tool can be seen below:
Once you’ve used the checkboxes to make your selections, click Mark Exempt to exempt all the chosen devices, or Remove Exemption to remove exemptions for all the chosen devices. You’ll see a confirmation screen reviewing your actions before they’re saved.
