CIV14 Mailed
HPD will mark the status of a violation as "CIV14 MAILED" when a letter is sent to the tenant after an owner has certified to the agency that a violation has been corrected. The letter asks the tenant to verify that the condition has been corrected. Once the letter is returned and the correction is verified or the tenant takes no action, HPD will close the violation.
If the letter goes unreturned, it is unclear how long HPD will wait before closing the violation.
CIV10 Mailed
If the tenant says the violation has not been corrected the agency will issue a "CIV10" and mark the Violation Status as "CIV10 MAILED". We believe the CIV10 is sent to the tenant - it is unclear if anything is sent to the landlord.
When the Violation Status is "CIV10 MAILED" the violation will also have a Certification Status of either FALSE CERTIFICATION or NOT COMPLIED WITH.
