What are Fire Safety Back of Door Notices?
Fire Safety Notices are located on the back of unit doors at residential buildings. Each Notice details steps to take in case of an emergency, depending on the type of building - combustible, or non-combustible.
As of 2021, owners and managers (including condo/co-op boards) are required to confirm these Notices are in place throughout their portfolio by taking specific actions. While Notices have been required for some time, this is the first step of increased enforcement here (and may foreshadow future enforcement for similar requirements).
